Polarization and angular-momentum dependences of degenerate backward four-wave mixing in atomic lines

Abstract
The third-order nonlinear susceptibilities responsible for degenerate backward four-wave mixing in single-photon resonance are calculated for atomic lines with arbitrary values of total angular momentum J. All possible combinations for the polarization of three interacting beams have been considered.
