Atmospheric-turbulence compensation with self-referenced binary holographic interferometry

Abstract

A technique to perform atmospheric compensation of ground-based telescopes by use of self-referenced interferometry with a binary holographic recording medium is analyzed for a 1.5-m aperture. Substantial image correction is predicted with a laser-illuminated beacon reference.
