Abstract
The author points out two errors in a reference in a paper by Elzinga and de Weert [J. Opt. Soc. Am. A 3, 1173 (1986)] and their failure to acknowledge the magnitude scaling aspect of B. C. Wilson’s work [B. C. Wilson, Ph.D. dissertation (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich., 1964)].
