Abstract
Refractive-index anisotropy and dispersion were measured in the monoclinic triglycine selenate single crystal between 460 and 635 nm at room temperature (18°C), just below the ferroelectric–paraelectric phase transition (22°C). Use was made of a recently developed technique that uses bireflectance in an oriented single-crystal prism to obtain an accurate estimate of the anisotropy. At λ = 633 nm the refractive indices were nX = 1.465, nY = 1.537, and nZ = 1.557.
