Abstract

We have observed two-dimensional speckle in the space and the time domains; the speckle appears when a coherent short optical pulse propagates through a disordered solid in the multiple-scattering regime. The conventional speckle theory is extended into both the space and the time domains. The possibility of application of this speckle to optical measurements is discussed.
