Abstract
We performed a theoretical investigation of the properties of a nonlinear mirror design based on two-photon absorption. For an appropriate choice of design parameters, the reflectivity of this structure increases with intensity over certain wavelength ranges. This type of mirror could be used to initiate and stabilize mode locking in solid-state lasers.
