Abstract

The spectrum of iodine was photographed in the 100–260 Å region on a variety of spectrographs with a triggered spark source. The energy-level structure of the 4d8, 4d7(5p+4f), and 4p54d9 configurations of I x was investigated. All nine levels of the 4d8 ground configuration and 130 of 328 levels of three odd configurations have been established. Three hundred lines were classified. Hartree–Fock and least-square-fitted parametric calculations were carried out to interpret the observed spectrum.
