Abstract

The equations of motion for a single-mode laser with intracavity parametric amplification are formulated and solved. This system is shown to be characterized by five stationary points. Chaos in the system is demonstrated for a bad cavity under strong pumping. The chaotic regime is characterized by two well-separated strange attractors in contrast to the one attractor for Lorenz equations.
