Abstract
Single-shot time-domain coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering was recently used to measure the static temperature and the flow velocity vector component along laser beams in supersonic flows. We report results demonstrating the capability of this technique for determining the velocity component in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the laser beams. The experiment is interpreted with two complementary approaches, the first through Doppler shifts and the second through transient grating formation.
