The spectrum of iodine was photographed in the 100–260 Å region on a variety of spectrographs with a triggered spark source. The energy-level structure of the 4d<sup>8</sup>, 4d<sup>7</sup>(5p+4f ), and 4p<sup>5</sup>4d<sup>9</sup> configurations of I X was investigated. All nine levels of the 4d<sup>8</sup> ground configuration and 130 of 328 levels of three odd configurations have been established. Three hundred lines were classified. Hartree–Fock and least-square-fitted parametric calculations were carried out to interpret the observed spectrum.
