Abstract
The use of two low-power, single-mode cw dye lasers and a high-power cw Nd+3:YAG laser is shown to provide high sensitivity and high selectivity as an ionization source for mass spectrometry. The sensitivity for half of the upper states investigated is greater than with electron-impact ionization, and isotopic selectivities of 800 are observed.
