High-efficiency blue-light generation with a ring cavity with periodically poled KTP

We report on the frequency doubling of a Ti:Sa laser at a wavelength of 852 nm , corresponding to the cesium D 2 line, using a periodically poled KTP crystal (PPKTP) placed in a singly resonant ring cavity. We have obtained a maximum stable power of 330 mW for a mode-matched power of 600 mW ( η = 55 % ) . This is, to our knowledge, the highest power obtained at this wavelength with PPKTP; moreover, the setup is inherently simple and robust.
