All-solid-state continuous-wave yellow laser at 561 nm under in-band pumping

Abstract

We demonstrate a continuous-wave (cw) yellow laser at 561 nm generation by intracavity frequency doubling of a direct in-band pumped Nd:YAG laser on the R1Y6 transition. By using an inserted solid glass etalon and a special coating design, the 1123 nm single line oscillation is realized. With an absorbed pump power of 21.8W, the maximum output power of 2.3W is achieved, with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 10.6%. This is, to the best of our knowledge, the highest cw output power at 561 nm of a diode-pumped frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser.
