Abstract

The second-harmonic generation efficiencies of a large number of aromatic organic compounds are presented. The second-harmonic data from a series of benzophenone and pyridine derivatives are discussed in detail. Specifically, 4-aminobenzophenone and 4-benzoylpyridine are shown to be of potential interest as frequency doublers for semiconductor lasers.
