Abstract

We have investigated stimulated Raman scattering in a high-Q ring cavity in the linear case. Both transient and steady-state behaviors are discussed. Enhancement of the Stokes light in comparison to the single-pass cell is stressed. A departure from the exponential probability distribution of the Stokes light statistics is found.
