Abstract

Doppler-limited and sub-Doppler laser spectroscopy of atomic oxygen is performed by means of optogalvanic detection. Collisional processes determining atomic populations are studied by simultaneous investigation of the fluorescence spectra. Fine structures are resolved, and the higher-accuracy values are compared with those previously inferred from conventional optical spectra.
