Abstract

An optogalvanic spectrum of scandium, recorded in the range 575–625 nm by using a cw dye laser and a scandium:neon hollow cathode discharge lamp, is reported. High-resolution spectra of seven transitions of Sc I are recorded and analyzed in order to obtain hyperfine coupling constants. We report A and B constants for four metastable levels of the configuration 3d24s and five high-lying levels in the odd configuration 3d24p.
