Abstract
Wave-mixing and Z-scan experiments were performed in a study of the influence of the electronic trapping states on the nonlinear behavior of semiconductor-doped glasses. The origin of the optical nonlinearity for nanosecond light pulses whose frequencies were smaller than the sample band-gap frequencies was identified, and the densities of deep traps in the studied samples were measured.
