Abstract

This paper discusses the temperature dependence of the radiation energy and the lasing threshold of lasers based on a potassium-gadolinium tungstate crystal doped with Nd31 ions. The values of the universal parameters needed to carry out the calculations have been measured in terms of a technique proposed for determining how the gains and the cross section vary with increasing temperature in a four-level active medium.
