Abstract
Opticheskiĭ Zhurnal 77, 96 (February 2010)
This book, by well-known specialists in the physics of
ultrasmall systems, is devoted to the optical properties of
solid-state heterostructures with characteristic scales of spatial
inhomogeneities from hundreds of nanometers to a few
nanometers. It presents the results of theoretical and experimental
investigations of such important objects as photonic
crystals, quantum wells and superlattices, quantum dots, and
metallic nanoparticles. This book is intended for students in
senior courses of physics departments, as well as graduate
students and scientific workers who specialize in solid-state
optics.
