Distribution of induced birefringence in a lithium niobate crystal in an inhomogeneous external electric field

Abstract

This article contains the results of a study of the induced birefringence in a lithium niobate crystal when it is introduced into an inhomogeneous electric field. The induced-birefringence distribution surfaces over the entire cross section of the crystal are presented.
