Abstract
This paper presents a method of measuring the phase difference of the vibrations of the electric vectors of the orthogonal linearly polarized components of optical radiation transmitted through a birefringent medium. The method is based on a measurement of the phase difference of the electric signals from two photodetectors and uses the fast Fourier transformation.
