Abstract

This paper shows that nanocomposites consisting of nanocrystals of organic semiconductors (the dyes Mg phthalocyanine and thioindigo red) and inorganic semiconductors (CdS), introduced in high concentrations into a polymeric matrix (polycarbonate), possess substantially higher photostability than molecular solutions of organic dyes in a polymeric matrix and are therefore promising materials for colored optical filters.
