Abstract

Scattering in restoration materials used for esthetic reconstruction of the hard tissues of the tooth is modelled. The calculations are based on the Monte Carlo method. Isophots are obtained from the modelling for each type of materials, and a comparison with the isophots of natural and restoration materials is presented. Isophots are obtained for the scattering of light when it is transmitted through a tooth. © 2003 Optical Society of America
