This paper presents experimental results on low-threshold optical limitation of nanosecond pulses of radiation with a wavelength of 0.53 and 1.06 µm by <formula><roman>CaF</roman><inf>2</inf></formula> nanoparticles. It is shown that the limitation threshold lies in the range <formula>50-100<roman> pJ/cm</roman><sup>2</sup>.</formula> A two-stage limiter layout with a limitation threshold of <formula>50<roman> pJ/cm</roman><sup>2</sup></formula> and a dynamic range of <formula>2x10<sup>3</sup></formula> is described.
