Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of experimental data whose results are used to develop an analytical model for calculating the operational threshold of contrast perception for an exposure of the visual stimuli of 1 sec> t>0.01 sec in the range of adaptation luminance 3.43X102 ? 3.43X10-3 cd/m2. It is shown that the numerical values of the operational threshold are substantially different when solving problems of the detection and discrimination of a stimulus. The resulting values of the operational threshold of contrast perception and the corresponding stimulus-discrimination probability are compared with the results of a calculation using the ABCt computer model obtained by American investigators.
