Abstract
This paper presents a brief review of information-display systems developed in the past ten years
and discusses trends in the evolution of cathode-ray tubes and liquid-crystal,
cathodoluminescent, LED, and plasma displays. The prospects of using the new display
technologies are discussed. The principles of creating bistable and volume displays are
analyzed.
