Abstract

This paper shows that it is possible to reduce the distortion in a high-resolution monochromatic objective consisting of two diffraction lenses and a cemented Wood lens by an appreciable factor by mutually compensating the distortion components of different orders. The design parameters and the field characteristics of the objective are presented, demonstrating that the method is effective. © 2004 Optical Society of America
