Abstract

This paper analyzes the features of the operation of a laser rangefinder with respect to various types of objects. The conditions are determined that make it possible to optimize the threshold ratios as applied to certain typical ways of using the device. An example is given of the structural implementation of a laser rangefinder with a selective operating regime as applied to various observation conditions.© 2004 Optical Society of America
