Abstract

This paper proposes a layout for a double grid monochromator with addition of dispersions, in which the aberrations of the objectives and of the dispersive elements (flat reflective diffraction gratings) are simultaneously minimized. Because of quadruple diffraction of the light beams, the layout can be fairly compact, with high angular dispersion and light-gathering power.
