Abstract

The problem of the diffraction of an arbitrarily polarized plane wave at the exit pupil of a nonideal corner reflector with flat faces is solved in the far-field approximation. The dynamics of the energy distribution in the diffraction patterns are studied as a function of the fabrication errors of the dihedral angles of the reflector and of the polarization of the radiation. The possibility of developing a potentially high-accuracy diffraction method of monitoring the quality of reflectors is discussed.
