Abstract

This paper discusses the use of fractal geometry to describe the multistage assembly of the ordered hexagonal structure of microchannel and fiber-optic plates. The applicability of new subassemblies in a two-stage process is graphically and physically modeled. Samples of highly ordered structures are fabricated. © 2005 Optical Society of America
