Abstract

Using a formula for the approximation of the difference of the eigenvalues of the waveguide modes formed by linearly polarized modal groups, expressions are obtained for calculating the overall degree of linear polarization of the output radiation of multimode fiber lightguides. The dependences of the polarization parameters on the input angle and the length of the waveguide are considered. A comparison is made with the experimental data.
