Abstract

The fluorescence-intensity variations on the surface of a photoisomerizing film of an organic dye under the action of the temperature contrasts that appear when a thermal image is projected onto it are considered. It is shown that a sensitive (δT=0.01°C) detector that directly converts a thermal image into a visible image can be based on this phenomenon.
