Abstract

Starting from the condition of minimizing the resolution of a thermal-viewer on the terrain, a basis is derived for the requirements on the ratio of the size of the circle of confusion of its objective and an element of the photodetector unit. It is shown that it is expedient to choose this ratio to be close to two in virtually all cases.
