Parametric model of the perceptible-contrast threshold for predicting the discrimination probability of visual stimuli with an exposure less than 15 sec

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of experimental data from the results of which a parametric model of the perceptible-contrast threshold is developed for visual stimuli in a wide range of their angular sizes with an adaptation luminance of −2.465≤log L<sub>a</sub> ≤2.535 and stimulus exposure 1/100≤τ<15 sec. The proposed model makes it possible to predict stimulus-discrimination probabilities whose values match the data of independent experiments.
