Abstract
This paper briefly discusses questions of enhancing the transparency and surface strength of “soft” materials of the UV and IR ranges (MgF2, CaF2, BaF2, LiF, etc.) by using nanoobjects. For a matrix based on MgF2, BaF2, or LiF, a substantial variation is established in the transmission spectra in the UV region. It is also shown that the strength parameters of the materials being studied can be improved by a factor of 3-10.
