Abstract

Effective methods have been developed for strengthening LiYF4:Nd laser crystals by chemical etching and film deposition. The samples were tested by two methods: the thermal-impact method and the static-gradient method. Besides this, laser testing of the samples was carried out with extreme diode pumping. The resulting increase of the thermal strength is greater than 40%.
