Abstract

This paper describes the optical deflector of the wave-front corrector of a controllable optical system for compensating random displacements of the focal image of a laser beam. The parameters of the deflector are optimized, and it is tested in a detection-and-ranging system. The solution produces a tenfold reduction of the variance of the random image displacements of the beam under realistic conditions of the action of a turbulent medium.
