Abstract
This paper presents the layout of the technological equipment for simultaneous two-sided processing of high-accuracy lenses with a thin center. A mathematical model of the process of shaping spherical surfaces under free-lapping conditions is created, and an analytical expression is obtained for determining the friction and pressure paths in the contact zone of the tool and the workpiece. A technique is proposed for carrying out numerical studies to detect the optimum setup parameters of the machine, taking into account the technological inheritance of the blank from the viewpoint of the distribution of the allowance to be removed.
