Abstract

Expressions have been obtained that, for a prescribed gamma-correction coefficient of the amplitude response of a video quasi-monochromatic television pyrometer, determine the range of temperatures that can be measured to within a specified accuracy and also the limiting measurable temperature when the values of the SNR of the television module and the communication channel are known. It is shown that the use of gamma correction is most suitable for broadening the measurement range in the temperature region close to the limiting temperature or exceeding it.
