Abstract

This paper describes the production of topographical maps of the surfaces of optical items by Fourier transformation. Software is presented that is used in fabricating high-accuracy aspheric optics. A comparative analysis is carried out of this method with the amplitude method used earlier in the process of shaping and monitoring the surfaces of optical items. It is concluded that this method is suitable for monitoring the surfaces of optical items.
