Abstract
This paper proposes an improved technique for calculating the probability of the detection and recognition of objects of the terrain lying beyond aerosol formations by means of modern high-sensitivity thermal viewers, taking into account the specific features of the thermal viewers, as well as the transparency and emission of these formations and the atmosphere and using an improved model of the operator–interpreter’s visual analyzer. A corresponding criterion is formulated for the detection or recognition of such objects by means of a thermal viewer.
