Abstract
This paper shows that the response time of a Stark echo can be controlled by varying the relative orientation of inhomogeneous electromagnetic fields. It is found that, if nonresonance laser pulses that are spatially inhomogeneous act on the system, a shift in the appearance time of a Stark echo is observed in the nanosecond range.
