Intensity distributions for heterodyning of two gaussian beams which have matched amplitude. The intensity distribution at the lower left is a result of heterodyning between a beam with a half wave of coma and a beam with a planar wavefront; two planar wavefronts were used to generate the distribution at the upper right. This snapshot is representative of several videos showing time dependence of heterodyned beams including the effects of aberration, in the accompanying article by Chambers.
