Feature Issue for Optics Express

Light, Energy and the Environment

Submission Deadline: 1 February 2015

This feature issue will comprise expanded papers from the 2014 OSA Light, Energy and the Environment Congress, to be held 2-5 December 2014, at Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. This comprehensive Congress examines the frontiers in the development of optical technologies for energy production, transport, and use. It also examines the use of optical and photonic approaches to monitor energy usage and the effects energy production has on the environment. The feature issue will be published in the Energy Express supplement of Optics Express.

The feature issue will be published in May 2015. Only papers (oral or poster) accepted for the Congress will be eligible for submission to the feature issue. This includes papers from the four conferences: Optics and Photonics for Energy and Environmental Applications (E2), Optical Nanostructures and Advanced Materials for Photovoltaics (PV), Optics for Solar Energy (SOLAR), and Solid State and Organic Lighting (SOLED). Papers will be published online upon acceptance.

All papers need to present original, previously unpublished work, and will be subject to the normal standards and peer-review process of the journal. To be eligible for publication, the papers need to add substantial and/or significant new information to the original conference summary. Normal Optics Express Article Processing Charges will apply to all published articles.

Manuscripts must be prepared according to the author instructions for submission to Optics Express and submitted through OSA's online submission system. When submitting, authors must specify that the manuscript is for the feature issue on Light, Energy and the Environment feature issue (choose from the drop-down menu).
