Optics Express Focus Issue
Surface Plasmon PhotonicsAccepting Submissions: 1 June 2013
Submission Deadline: 31 July 2013
This Focus Issue, which will comprise invited papers only, will be based on research presented at the 6th International Conference on Surface Plasmon Photonics (SPP6), Ottawa, Canada, 26 - 31 May 2013. Plasmonics is a rapidly growing and evolving field on the cutting edge of optical science and engineering. The 6th edition of this conference will bring together plasmonics experts from across the globe to share their latest results and set the agenda for future developments in the field. High quality submissions on any fundamental or applied topic involving surface plasmons from THz to UV wavelengths in metallic structures of any scale (e.g., nm to cm) will be presented.
A subset of the abstracts submitted to SPP6 will be selected based on their quality, and the authors invited to participate in the focus issue. All manuscripts will then undergo the same rigorous peer review as any other paper under consideration for the journal. Normal Optics Express open access charges will apply to all published articles.
Topics covered in this special issue include, but are not limited to, particles, antennas, resonators, gratings, waveguides, integrated circuits, devices, (bio)chemical sensors, medical applications, telecommunications applications, fabrication, theory, modeling, instrumentation, metamaterials, non-linearity, gain, quantum effects, new plasmonic materials.
Manuscripts must be prepared according to the usual standards for submission to Optics Express and must be uploaded through OSAs electronic-submission system - http://www.opticsinfobase.org/oe/journal/oe/author.cfm. When submitting, please specify that the manuscript is for the Surface Plasmon Photonics focus issue (choose from the drop-down menu). All accepted papers will be held such that the entire focus issue can be published on or near the target publication date (Oct. 31st 2013).
