Abstract
The position and the width of the χ(2) grating in a frequency-doubling fiber were studied during the preparation process. The peak of the grating moves several centimeters from the input end to the output end of the fiber before the conversion efficiency saturates. On saturation, the grating moves toward the input end and becomes narrower.
