Abstract

Contradirectional nonlinear-optical Bragg scattering in Kerr media is considered, and analytical solutions are derived and discussed. The scattering exhibits nonlinearity and nonreciprocity. The nonlinear response provides a model for stimulated Brillouin scattering.
