Stability of bright TE waves in slab waveguides with a self-defocusing bounding medium

Abstract

By using linear analysis with exact solutions, it is shown that the fundamental (TE0) and at least the TE1 guided waves of a thin-film slab waveguide bounded by a Kerr self-defocusing medium are stable.
